Welcome to St. Gregory's
where Christ challenges us each and every day to love him and love each other

Dear Friends,

Please put the Steak and Salmon dinner on your schedule. It is a delightful experience with great food. We have been holding this dinner for many years now and it is not only a pride of this church, but it is a wonderful opportunity to network and share each other's company. Getting to know each other is so important to community and that is what church is. An opportunity to gather people who care about the same things; like the care of each other and serving each other. In other words, living into the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Living into the Gospel happens every day and sometimes many times a day. At the end of the day, I like to think back over the day and think about those moments and how I responded. If I responded as God wills me to, I thank God. If I fall short, which I do at times, I ask for God's forgiveness, I show remorse, and if needed I make amends with the person I may have hurt. Then I start all over the next day. This is called doing a self- inventory. We are good at doing inventory with things, but we are not so good at it when it comes to our actions, and it is really hard when it comes to looking and being honest with ourselves. Doing a self-inventory each day or as much as possible is good for our emotional and spiritual growth. Acquiring habits such as this not only help us to self-differentiate, in order to take responsibility when it is ours to become aware of, but habits, such as these, helps draw us nearer to God and to God's will.

Several of us will be at the Diocesan Convention this weekend. If there is an emergency and you need to get a hold of me, please call my cell phone (231-670-5911). I will respond. I want to thank all of you who have stepped up to help with the office and the other duties that Marti has assumed over the years. We are grateful and with God's help and your help she will be able to rest and heal. Take good care of yourselves, as well. Remember your spiritual health needs tending, too. See you in church!!!

Warmly and with much love,

Mother Lily
